NEGOTIATION & MEDIATION SERVICES

Clarity in Complexity. Control in Resolution.

Meet Johnny

Dedicated expert in mediation and negotiation.

Resolution Strategies Group was founded on the belief that high-stakes negotiations and mediations require more than theory alone—they require operational experience, strategic judgment, and the ability to navigate complex human dynamics under pressure.

Led by Johnny Furlong, Resolution Strategies Group focuses on business-centered negotiations and mediations, high-value divorce and custody matters, and court-connected dispute resolution.

Johnny combines formal negotiation and mediation training with more than 28 years of real-world business and leadership experience across diverse industries, including:

  • Operations management

  • Process efficiency

  • Organizational restructuring

  • Business growth

  • Crisis management

  • Executive-level conflict resolution

His work has involved navigating disputes where financial exposure, reputation, leadership control, family interests, and long-term business continuity were all at stake.

Johnny completed the Negotiation Mastery certificate program through eCornell, Cornell University’s executive education platform, with advanced coursework in negotiation psychology, integrative negotiation, ethics, power dynamics, and complex negotiations. The program is recognized for continuing education by organizations including the Project Management Institute (PMI), the HR Certification Institute (HRCI), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). His professional development has also included extensive independent study in negotiation strategy, behavioral communication, and tactical negotiation methodologies.

In addition, Johnny completed mediation training through Mediation University with coursework focused on civil, family, and divorce mediation consistent with private and court-connected mediation expectations.

His professional background includes negotiations and dispute resolution involving:

  • Business ownership and partnership disputes

  • Contract and financial conflicts

  • Operational and organizational restructuring

  • Workplace and executive-level disputes

  • Pre-litigation and legally adjacent matters

  • High-value divorce and custody negotiations

Unlike experience limited to classroom theory or litigation environments, Johnny’s background was built within businesses—working through operational pressures, leadership disputes, staffing conflicts, financial instability, and growth negotiations in real time. That operational perspective allows Resolution Strategies Group to approach disputes from a practical, business- and outcome-oriented standpoint.

In parallel with his business career, Johnny has also served in ministry roles for nearly 40 years. That experience included working with individuals and families during their periods of significant personal crisis, including high-conflict domestic situations, family breakdowns, grief, and suicide intervention. This background has contributed to a real-world communication style grounded in composure, discretion, active listening, and the ability to navigate emotionally charged conversations with stability and respect.

Having spent over 24 years working directly within Alaska—including rural Alaska communities and owner-operated businesses—Resolution Strategies Group understands the cultural, operational, and economic realities unique to the state.

The firm’s approach is:

  • Strategic, structured

  • Resolution-focused

  • Helping clients maintain control of outcomes

  • Reduce unnecessary escalation

  • Protect long-term interests

  • Move complex matters toward workable agreements with clarity and discretion
